  Hi Bobby, so what have your condo eventually settled for? I just recently got to know that only TNB can charge people for selling electricity.

  A tips, beware of installing EV outdoor. Our high outdoor temperature will make the EV charger very hot 🔥 exceeding their standard operating temperature.

  My condo management office in Subang Jaya allows us to install individual chargers. Each has a meter and the management bills us accordingly. Since we are paying commercial rates, the costs are more or less 2x private household rate, if I am not wrong. I have a charger installed for my E350e. No issues with manpower etc as not too many people want this facility anyway

  Can ask from third party solution provider like how they do it in malls . Condo charges the third party provider some fees and then the third party will install themselves all the required wiring and wall box for ev charging and charges are based off the usage . Just like in mall where they tap a preloaded credit card for charging station

  Is the EV charger plug had been standardized? Who knows some brand triangle plug some hexagon plug?

  The solution learned from. JomCharge (pay RM 2 every hr) / ParkEasy pay by a flat rate 3-4 hrs / Hager wall box pay using Touch &Go card.

  I don’t agree with ur statement about “they don’t know when their car is full charged “. Erm… I believe there r Apps (like BMW connect, Mercedes Me,etc). The owner can check via the app. Moreover, the car will always tells u when is ur car full charged in the display.

  + hogging is not a good ethics. Some malls do mention in the notice board like 3-4 hrs limit.. but still some people don’t follow.

  Suggestions for condo: install a Hager charger that is capable of charging fees via scanning Touch & Go. So u pay what u use, n u pay while u hog 👍

  Hi Bobby,I’m utterly disappointed at your idiotic review on min 8.00,whereby u commented to ‘use brain on why ppl hog chargers’.I’m not too sure if u are aware of car apps (most of PHEV has app)that allows one to know if their car is fully charged or not.or better still one can be aware of how long it takes to charge their car.this is wat we call being ethical and civic minded.as long as ppl have the mindset like you,we will still have selfish hoggers who will continuously hog chargers as if their grandfather owns it.

  Bobby, since your management is already upgrading your carpark main switchboard to cater for the possibility up to 70-80% cars charging. I'd suggest the management can charge a fixed one off fee to extend the cabling and charging panel from carpark main switchboard to that specific carpark lot. And, whatever usage can be charged using touch and go.

  Alternatively, charge a one off fee to extend normal power socket (cheaper & may add lock to prevent neighbour curi use) carpark main switchboard to that specific parking and flat rate monthly fee. Don't really have to worry about fast charging because this is condo, people mostly charge cars overnight/long hours. Only shopping complex and R&R need fast charging. I think this is cheapest, easiest and minimum maintenance effort.

  Don't agree with the Monthly payment. Buyers who buy EV is to save cost. Too much pros and cons of charging points. That's why NIO battery station works but that also have some problems like queuing up and waiting

  My apartment has some issue with the government because previously they those who have got their EV charger installed didn’t get approved by the government. So I’m trying to go back and forth with my condo management to sort out an ev charging because they temporarily suspended any new ev charging stations from being installed which is just completely wrong

  The same question been rise out by my condo residents..
  Since to build a EV charging point will be costly,
  We Community suggested ,
  the only solution we offer to residents with simple way, we offer to build a power point at the particular owner parking lot and charges electrical fix rate every month at around RM 100.

  Why? Because we told the residents ours country still haven't fully implemented EV vehicle and if we build a proper EV charging will be costly and this will be using condo public fund,, but the problems is ,, not many residents are able to owner an EV vehicle..

  So even we build this EV charger ,,this things are not benefit to other..
  So we purpose the residents who ever interested to build a power point at his own particular parking lot,, he would be baring the cost to build the power point

  I have actually raise this question few years ago to some EV scooter maker. I live in condo and plan to buy a motorcycle, and would like to move to EV bike becoz a trip to China change my perception to EV vehicle. But not like China, our condo is built long ago without such planning of charge station. So I proposed in my word so they bring in removeable battery to be charge in our unit. More effort is still needed.

  Both Malaysia n Malaysians r not redy for one…tbh we didn't have enough yet with internal combustion engine~ mybe in bout a decade more in future we would find ultimate peace with e vehichle facilities~

  Good suggestion. My condo hit a few issue
  1) selling electricity by condo mgmt. which is illegal as only TNB can sell electric.
  2) As most of carpark complex in condo only got enough electricity to power lights therefore might need to upgrade all the panels box and worst scenario might need to built a new transmission hub for the car park complex (in future to have all parking bays EV ready)
  3) If we look at giving 50% of the car park bays to have a charging port of 33kW then everything need to be upgraded as well including cables, racks and etc
  However i am still a strong proponent of pushing for EV
